Join a group, even a small one. Bobbins alone get boring faster If you fancy, I’ll leave Tip.
Ten minutes a day beat three hours on Saturday. I’m telling you — I tried both.
The tip¶
- Never wash without professional advice.
- Store flat, between acid-free paper.
- Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity.
- Yellow stains: don’t apply products: they worsen.
Why it works¶
- Home washes break aged fibres.
- Acid paper yellows through chemical reaction.
- Humidity feeds fungi that destroy linen.
How to apply it¶
- Document before any intervention.
- If valuable, consult a textile conservator.
- For family-use pieces, consider professional restoration.

I hope this helps. If you want a teacher in front of you, Encaixe runs courses. I no longer teach, but I know them and recommend them wholeheartedly.
